Winter bridal hair
I have been designing ideas and plans for a winter bride, this is to combine historical and contemporary designs to show that many ideas can be used in the real world on clients. I have been practicing what I have learned in lesson and the research I have been doing independently to come up with a new design that includes buns and plaits.

I chose this image because it reminded me of Elsa from the film frozen; she is wearing a large plait with blonde hair, ideal for winter as the star from frozen has the power to freeze. This look is very elegant and sophisticated; ideal for a wedding as is promotes a beautiful style while pilled on the head for a warmer look. This look relates to my project because I have been practicing plaits for an Elizabethan style.
This image stood out to me because it promotes a winter look, the hair combined with the makeup and crown gives a cold and snowy theme to this wedding hair style. This is a very beautiful image and displays good use of photoshop; the skin is smoothed and the beads give a nice effect over this makeup ideal. The beads in the hair give a nice touch, and also add to the effect I want to receive whilst creating Elizabethan style hair ideas. The artist has used blue and silver colouring on the hair to influence even more the look of winter. I would like to use some gold colour in the hair for my final design to help influence wealth and royalty. This crown also relates to Queen Elizabeth, and foes well to fit in with the winter theme, this also reminds me of a ice queen.

This is an inspiring Facebook page to promote different hair styles that involve plaits, new designs are posted daily and incorporate different techniques to get bridal and everyday looks. Some of my favourite designs involves fish tails, tying the hair into knots, using a pony tail and plait to create a beautiful bridal design and using props to build on the hair and creat very pretty and sophisticated looks.

I have chosen to look at this image of Elizabethan portraiture, because it shows tightly done up hair that in modern times would be made using plaits and buns. Although in this portrait the back of the hair isn't visible, it would have been neatly done in a bun or plait bun, but the main attention of the hair was focused at the front as this would be on show. I have been practicing different design on my doll and on models to get the same effect using plaits and buns.

This is another example of historical hair that looks like plaits, I have chosen to look at this image because I have been studying the different styles of plaits and buns amongst other techniques used in historical times, and finding ways to bring them into modern times.
