For this I have used:
- Curling tings
- pin tail comb
- brush
- grips to hold the weight of the hair
During this lesson on 08.10.15, I learnt how to curl the hair in two different ways, I used curling tongs for both styles but the outcome for both was very different. I split the hair into two parting it in the middle, I showed an example of both styles, one on either side of the head. Then in small sections I curled one side of the hair using curling tongs facing them upwards, this created a nice bouncy slightly crazy curl. This look reminded me of the eighties style hair.
Each section I curled I then clipped up with a curvy grip to hold the shape. This ensured the curl would stay in shape and not fall out.
This image is how the curls looked once I had clipped them into place.
Once the hair cooled, I undone the clips and lightly separated the hair until it fell nicely into place, it turned out very big and frizzy, but I liked the overall look. Next time I will make sure the curls are tighter and each hair is neatly tucked into the curling tongs, to keep them perfectly formed.
This is an image of the second side to my curling designs, I done this by facing the tongs flat and curling upwards towards the head, this created a much bouncier look.
I again clipped each curl with a curvy grip to keep them in place.
Once the hair had cooled down I unclipped each curl and lightly pulled them so they unravelled, but I didn't run my fingers through the hair because with this style I wanted to keep the fullness.
I liked how each side came out but I prefer the look to this style.
This is an image of the hair from the back, you can see the two sides and the differences n the both. The left side has smaller more erratic curls in all directions. The right side has bigger bouncier curls all flowing in the same way.
This image shows the hair from the front, Here we can see the two different styles of curls, one more fuller and thicker the other more erratic.

This image of Princess Elizabeth Palatinate shows the hair style in which I have been recreating, the curls in this image would have been created using a curling iron in a very similar way to how we do it today.
